The average person when buying a house gets a 30 year mortgage! I was no different July 2, 1990! Divorced with 2 children, I promised my Lender that I would NEVER be late on making my payments if this worked out. Well, the Underwriters kept giving me a hard time which I felt they were discriminating against me being Divorced. I got DETERMINED and called our Senator at that time which was Senator Strom Thurmond. I spoke to his Assistant, Chappie McKay and explained my dilemma. By the way interest rates back then were high but I was getting a State Loan program with a 5% interest rate that was about to run out so TIME WAS OF ESSENCE! A few days later Frankie Pigate from P*e Dee Stare Bank ( my Lender) called me to tell me as she was laughing, that I GOT MY LOAN! She said, " Fran, you had heads rolling ". I was working for a CPA at the time and surely was not a Realtor so did not know what I know now. What I DO KNOW is:
1. After having to refinance twice over the years it sets you back longer to pay it off!
2. I was NEVER LATE one time during the whole term!
3. It may have taken me 35 years and 30 days BUT TODAY
JULY 31st, 2025 I officially PAID MY MORTGAGE OFF ALL BY MYSELF! I have had wonderful clients who trusted me to sell their homes or get me to help them buy one being a Realtor all these years. The past few transactions I put all my commission checks to this Mortgage with one GOAL of being DONE ! Thank you to my clients! This is how I make a living.
I walked into my Broker's office several months ago and told him what I wanted to do. He encouraged me and said, you WILL do this by the end of the year. Now he said, I did not know it would happen this fast. Set GOALS, be DETERMINED and IT WILL HAPPEN, EVENTUALLY! I now can say, "I OWN MY CHEROKEE COTTAGE"!❤️🤗👍

This CUTE home went Under Contract so fast and we CLOSED last week! HIGHGATE SUBDIVISION is another sweet little neighborhood with SIDEWALKS and that Country vibe yet within 2 miles to the Mall. Thank you Haley and Nathan!❤️❤️

My sweet client bought this house and we closed this past
MONDAY. Even though we looked at 6 houses this was the first one we looked
at. She kept coming back to this one. A home can speak to you and when you know; You KNOW! I love her new home!

My son came to cut my neighbors grass and came inside to visit with his Mama! After cutting Joe's grass I seen him in my yard. He had already cut my grass too and was doing the edging. I left the office about 1pm to come home because my allergies were giving me a fit. I feel so stopped up and breathing is harder. Talking about being grateful for a son who wants to help his Mama! I didn't even have to ask him.
He had just came from the doctor his-self and has a hernia that will require surgery soon! I told him to be careful and no heavy lifting but he is sorta " hard headed"! My children has always kept a neat and pretty yard! Must have got that from me and their Great- Grandma!🤗❤️❤️

This lady has asked me to assist her in 4 real estate transactions but said this is her last move.

Thank you to my clients, Wayne and Linda for trusting me to help find them a pretty home back here in Florence. It's been about 10 years but they were anxious to leave the Raleigh area to come back here. Working with the Listing agent, Vonda was so easy and McLain Law Firm staff, as usual kept us on schedule to close. So rewarding for all!🤗

10 Sections of vinyl fencing with 17 pickets in each section which is 170. Washing the other side so double that which equals 340 pickets. Spraying bleach on it and hosing off wasn't removing the dirt so I had to get sudsy water mixed with bleach and SCRUB by hand. A lot of elbow grease! 18 months of road grime. Thank goodness the weather was not too hot and last few hours I had some shade towards the end. Now my fence is so white it looks new even though it is 20 years old.
Good exercise, I guess and saved money doing it myself!

You all know I have posted before how I believe that maintenance on your home is so important, especially if you ever expect a good return on your INVESTMENT. Your YARD which is included, is your "Welcome Mat" to your home spoken from my Grandma Nona many years ago( before I ever chose a Real Estate Career!) I have always liked a neat yard and pretty homes. My sweet son came this morning to cut my neighbors yard and told me he would cut mine as well so I would not have to do it today. All this rain had it pretty high or higher than I like it and since I was on vacation last week, it really needed it. The finishing touch was done with w**d eating around the perimeters and blowing. He asked me to attend Church with him tomorrow and then lunch afterwards.
So I'll take this for Mother's Day with an attitude of Gratitude! Thank you Son! ❤️ Love you!
