Big News for Renters in DFW and Beyond!
Did you know your on-time rent payments might now help you qualify for a mortgage? Thanks to a recent change by the FHFA (Federal Housing Finance Agency), lenders who work with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac can now use VantageScore 4.0, which factors in rental history and other alternative credit data.

What this means for you:
• If you’ve been consistently paying rent on time, that history can now strengthen your credit profile.

• This is especially helpful if your credit history is thin (e.g. few credit card lines, little loan history).

• It opens more doors for folks hoping to buy a home—especially first-time buyers.
