Foreclosure vs. REO — Do You Know the Difference? 🏡

Many buyers use these terms interchangeably… but they’re NOT the same.

🔹 Foreclosure = The property is in the legal process and often headed to auction.
🔹 REO (Real Estate Owned) = The home didn’t sell at auction and is now owned by the bank — typically listed like a traditional property.

Why it matters?
REOs often allow showings, inspections, and financing — making them more accessible for buyers and investors.
