• 2 weeks ago: Zillow came out and said they were halting purchasing homes for the remainder of 2021.
Reasoning: “too many homes & not enough operational capacity” to work through transactions & renovations required to resell homes.

• 2 days ago: Zillow is offloading 7,000+ homes significantly less than Zillow purchased them for to claw back $2.8 billion.

• Observed over the past month: Zillow owned homes have been dropping the sales prices every 15-22 days by 2-5% with each drop. In some larger markets, 93% of Zillow listings were listing for less than they purchased them for only days before.

•Today: Zillow stock fell 12%

•1 hour ago: Zillow announced it is exiting the home buying business completely by shutting down their iBuying business & cutting 25% of their staff!! 2,000 jobs lost!

•Zillow reports a loss of $328.2 million in the 3rd quarter!

It really does matter who you do business with. Zillow got into Real Estate for the money, but real estate is so much more than a paycheck.
Make sure the agent you choose to work with cares about you, listens to you & works hard to get you what you are looking for. Zillow never had a shot.. but I believed it would take them longer to fail.

RIP ZILLOW, although you won’t be missed!!
