This is why the popcorn trees have to go. This tree was cut down over a month ago and cut into short pieces with hopes of seasoning it for the fire pit. The stumps have a lot of new growth which was to be expected until they are pulled out. But these cut up pieces with no roots are still growing. This is a very invasive tree.

Middle detention pond work in progress. There is a large popcorn tree right in the path of the drainage that has to come out. It has caused the ground to build up around it almost level with the road.

I want to personally thank all of the property owners that have been working on the South pond, and those that have helped me with the middle and North ponds. With Hurricane Season only a couple of months away, hopefully the hard work will pay off should we see a storm.

We got the trees in the North detention pond cut down and removed today. Removing the stump sometime this week depending on the weather. Some smaller roots have penetrated the plastic culvert. Fingers crossed that it isn't too bad.
