We’ve been busy at StarView Cottage B, and we’re finally ready to show you some of what we’ve been working on!

One of the biggest changes is the screened porch that stretches across the entire front of the cottage. We removed the old crossbars, completely rescreened it with large unobstructed panels and added a new cottage-style screen door.

The difference is amazing. The porch feels brighter, more open and connected to the outdoors — exactly what we wanted for a cottage sitting directly across the street from the beach.

And there’s more. New flooring runs throughout Cottage B, we’ve freshened up the landscaping and added a few other touches that we’ll be sharing soon.

Morning coffee in the gliders, an afternoon nap with the ocean breeze or a glass of wine after the beach… this porch may be our new favorite spot.

Vintage Market Days® Charleston — “Team Vintage” is coming to the Charleston Area Convention Center September 18–20, with original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor and plenty more to hunt through.

My idea of a pretty great fall day? Shop the market early, then head to Folly and spend the rest of the afternoon at the beach. 🌊

And if you’re coming from out of town, make a weekend of it. We have fall availability at StarView Cottages, directly across the street from the beach.

🌊🐦 A Different Side of Folly Beach

There’s so much more to Folly than sand and surf — and Surfrider Foundation Charleston Chapter and Charleston Bird Club are giving us a great reason to explore it with Bird & Brews on Sunday, August 30. ☕🦜

The morning starts at 7:30 AM with coffee and conversation from Camino Caffeino, followed by the bird walk at 8:30 AM.

The walk takes you through the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve, one of Folly’s special natural areas and a wonderful place for birding, before opening up to those incredible views of the Morris Island Lighthouse.

Bring your reusable cup, enjoy your morning coffee and spend a little time appreciating the natural side of Folly Beach. Events like this are such a great reminder that there’s so much more to our little island than just a day at the beach. ❤️

And for our out-of-town Folly lovers — why not make a weekend of it?

We happen to have late-August availability at StarView Cottages, and bicycles are included with your stay. 🚲 Hop on a bike in the morning, pedal down the island toward the lighthouse and make Bird & Brews part of your Folly weekend.

It’s peak hatchling season, and this post from the Folly Beach Turtle Watch is absolutely worth taking a few minutes to read.

So much happens behind the scenes to protect these tiny sea turtles, and I had no idea about their new HERO Team and the extraordinary lengths these volunteers are going to give struggling hatchlings one more chance.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated people looking after the wildlife that shares our little island. 💙

A James Island favorite has arrived on Folly Beach.

Yous Guys Sandwich Shop is now serving up their legendary Philly-style hoagies at Hotel Folly, right by the Folly Beach boat landing as you come onto the island.

As a Pittsburgh girl, I appreciate a good hoagie, and Yous Guys has been a go-to spot on James Island for years. My personal favorite? The Italian Hoagie. 🇮🇹

🌸 One of Charleston’s favorite traditions is back this weekend!

If you’re visiting Folly Beach and looking for a fun day trip, head downtown for 2nd Sunday on King Street. The historic shopping district transforms into a pedestrian-friendly promenade filled with local boutiques, art, dining, people watching, and plenty of Charleston charm.

It’s one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday afternoon—grab a coffee, wander at your own pace, discover a new shop, and soak up everything that makes Charleston special.
