I used to think that some closings were just more special than others. But looking back, I realize that isn’t true at all. Every single closing holds a permanent place in my heart because of the unique bonds formed through the highs, the heartbreaks, and the ultimate moments of success. It has taught me that timing is everything, and things truly happen for a reason.

Which brings me to Chester, Jacob, and Juliana.

Eight years ago, I was wrapping up a home showing when a neighbor from across the street walked over just to chat. That neighbor was DJ. We hit it off, kept in touch, and over the years, that casual meeting grew into a lifelong friendship—I even had the honor of attending his wedding. Fast forward to today, and that friendship came full circle when DJ referred his brother, Chester, to me.

Chester was given notice at his rental, leaving us with a tight 5-week window to find and close on a house for his family. At 80 years old, Chester preferred a personal touch—no texting back and forth, just long phone conversations and reviewing every single home in detail, one by one, before we ever set foot inside.

At first, the goal felt completely out of reach. But slowly, the pieces came together just in time. We found the perfect place, and when his daughter Juliana said "it felt like home," I knew we had won. I got to sit with Chester at his signing, spending over an hour laughing and chatting in the car together. I could not be more excited for this family to have a home of their own. And the best part? I was officially invited over for Chinese food! 🥡❤️

Real estate is so much more than just transactions—it’s about the incredible people you meet along the way. Today, a routine 2.5-hour home inspection turned into an absolute highlight of my week.

Because the buyer and her agent couldn't make it, my seller and I stayed at the property together. What could have been an awkward block of time turned into hours of genuine connection, endless laughs, and a long list of shared favorites—from local treats at Snooks Candies amazing food Visconti’s Ristorante and hidden treasures Planet Earth Rising 🧿 to a mutual love for design, craft projects, and growing up in contractor families.

The best part? She even gave me a crash course on the sewing machine basics so I can help my daughter, Quinn, get started on hers. I walked out feeling fairly confident I can pull off a Barbie skirt! 🧵

It's moments like these that make me love what I do. Fair warning to my friends: if we master this new hobby by December, expect something custom-sewn under the tree this year! 🎄

Today's real estate adventure in North Highlands.. not every day is pretty but my buyers and I had a great time together. We dodged spiders, spider webs, wasps, power outages, no ac, great ac, kittens, cb radios, REALLY SMELLY HOUSES, in fact all 3 of left smelling like the first house.. not a good thing. The last houses photos online totally catfished us. But the great thing about fixer uppers is they can shine again. Looking forward to helping them find "the one" however I'll be wearing boots next time just incase.
