✨ On November 7, 2025, we were part of a truly beautiful evening at the Twin Lakes Food Bank Starry Night Gala ✨ A night full of generosity, inspiration, and the power of community coming together.

I’m honored to serve on the Board of Directors for such an incredible organization, and so grateful to be there again with my handsome date by my side 💫 I’m especially thankful for all the friends who came out to join us and for their continued support of the food bank and our mission.

Ryan and I were honored to attend Saint John’s Program for Real Change’s “Party for Change — 40 Years of Transforming Lives” gala, and wow — what a night. It was more than just a fundraising event; it was a celebration of hope, resilience, and the power of community to help women and children rewrite their stories.

From the moment we walked into the hangar-style venue (complete with private jets on display) we felt the energy, commitment, and compassion of everyone there. We heard powerful stories of transformation, witnessed the deep impact of this organization’s work, and sat among generous supporters all united around a mission: to help women and children break free from cycles of homelessness, poverty, trauma, and instability.

We left feeling deeply inspired and reminded that real change happens when a community comes together with purpose. Saint John’s Program for Real Change continues to empower women with the tools, support, and opportunities to build brighter futures for themselves and their children — a true testament to 40 years of impact and transformation. 💫

Yesterday marked my 18th blood donation — and I’m on my way to hitting 3 gallons! 💪🏽I love walking into Vitalant Folsom and seeing my favorite phlebotomists with the mostest, Staci and Lily 💉✨ They’ve truly become friends over time.

Bonus: I ran into my friend Jesse, who donates platelets every 2 weeks. His dedication always inspires me to keep showing up and giving back.

Donating platelets for the first time today — and it was worth every minute.

It took about 3 hours total, but that time could mean life for a cancer patient, trauma victim, or someone undergoing surgery.

God gave me a second chance at life — and I’ll keep showing up to give others the same.

Big love to Ryan Jantzen for being by my side through it all. Your steady support, encouragement, and presence made this moment even more meaningful. I’m so grateful to have you as my partner in life and purpose.

And major shoutout to my friends Toby Magarian and Jeff Ferreira-Pro (63 donations! 🙌) for showing up too — you inspire me.

The total is in!

Over the course of two weeks, you all came together and gave an incredible $76,479 to support the mission of Twin Lakes Food Bank!

From long-time supporters to brand-new names, from volunteers and staff to maybe even a few guests - 222 donors helped us surpass our goal and raise vital funds for nutritious food, increased freezer storage, and the creation of a welcoming hospitality courtyard.

Your generous hearts are fighting hunger, building community, and making a real difference right here in Folsom, El Dorado Hills, and Granite Bay.

On a personal note, I’m so grateful to everyone who supported my efforts as a Twin Lakes Food Bank Board member - I set a goal of $1,000 and thanks to YOU, I raised $2,875! I’m beyond blessed by your generosity and belief in this cause that means so much to me and to those we serve in our food-insecure community.

Together, we are proving that love in action can change lives. Let’s keep showing up, keep giving back, and keep being the good.

Saturday marked my 17th blood donation - and I’m officially on my way to hitting the 3-gallon milestone.

My blood donation journey began in July 2020, after I underwent life-saving brain surgery. I didn’t require a transfusion myself, but surviving that experience gave me a new perspective and a deep desire to give someone else the opportunity at life.

Just 14 weeks post-surgery, I found myself on a bucket list adventure: hiking Half Dome in Yosemite (yes, I hiked Half Dome just 14 weeks after brain surgery, by a miracle of God). On that trip, I was inspired by two passionate advocates for blood donation: Vitalant Hall of Fame blood donor Scott MacGregor and Ryan Jantzen who, in an unexpected and beautiful turn of life, is now my partner. It was on that trip when I realized this could be my way to give back.

Fast forward five years, and here I am: a committed and passionate advocate for blood donation, proudly donating through Vitalant.

One donation can save up to three lives. It costs nothing but a little time, and yet the impact is immeasurable. If you’re healthy and eligible, I encourage you to consider becoming a donor. You never know who you might be saving or how much they’ll need that second chance.

On Saturday, I attended the Rotary District 5180 Assembly—an inspiring event for incoming leaders as they prepare to serve under District Governor-Elect Megan Ellinghouse (2025-26).

The morning kicked off with the District Final speech contest, where four talented high school students shared their perspectives on “The Magic of Service.” Huge congratulations to the winner, a freshman from Vista del Lago High School, who originally won Folsom Lake Rotary’s contest! It’s exciting to see one of our local clubs support and recognize such incredible talent.

It was great seeing all three Folsom clubs represented! Folsom Rotary Club: Ryan Jantzen, John Baciocco, Vicki Bencken, Scott Bailey. Folsom Lake Rotary: Lisa Parks Ferro, Mary Johnson, Andrea Wallin Rohmann. Rotary Club of Historic Folsom: Conni & Chuck Thompson. Though they are separate clubs, they share a strong bond, working together to serve Folsom and uphold Rotary’s mission.

I attended insightful breakout sessions, including one on membership led by Lisa Ferro & Christine Jensen and another on engaging potential members by Ryan Jantzen. These conversations reinforced the power of passion—when we lead with heart, we inspire others to join in service.

This assembly deepened my appreciation for Rotary’s leadership and the incredible individuals who embody “Service Above Self.” I left feeling inspired, grateful, and excited for the year ahead!

I’m excited to share that I’ll be rowing with the “Lakeside Legends,” 🐉 🛶 Lakeside Church’s Dragonboat team, in Powerhouse Ministries’ 2nd Annual Dragonboat Festival on April 5, 2025, at Black Miners Bar in Folsom!

Powerhouse Ministries is a Christian non-profit dedicated to inspiring and empowering individuals to overcome their circumstances, transform their lives, and positively impact their communities. Their programs help break the cycles of addiction, abuse, and incarceration, offering hope and healing to those in need.
