🎨 #1 — 50th Annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival — Saturday or Sunday, 9 AM–5 PM. Downtown Cary is hosting its huge anniversary edition with 250+ artists from 22 states, four stages of live entertainment, 25+ food and drink vendors, a beer garden, demonstrations and interactive art. Admission is free, so your spending is entirely up to you for food, drinks and shopping. The festival is confirmed for both Aug. 22 and 23. I’d choose Saturday morning at 9 and try to beat both the crowds and afternoon weather. ⁠

🎵 #2 — Jordan Davis at Red Hat Amphitheater — Friday, Aug. 21 at 8 PM. If you want a bigger night out, country singer Jordan Davis is playing Red Hat Amphitheater. Ticketmaster is still offering tickets as of Thursday morning, so I excluded sold-out shows in favor of this one. Budget roughly $50–$150+ per person, depending on the seats available when you buy. Because it’s outdoors and Friday has the roughest forecast, check the venue/weather shortly before making the drive. ⁠

🦎 #3 — Repticon Fayetteville — Saturday & Sunday. Repticon Fayetteville is confirmed in Fayetteville for Aug. 22–23, making this my best close-to-home indoor/weather-proof choice. Expect reptiles, exotic animals, breeders, supplies and vendors. Repticon’s current calendar confirms the Fayetteville show is going ahead this weekend. 

🍴🎶 #4 — & Eats Food and Music Festival Vol. 3 — Fayetteville. This is the strongest local match for your food + live music interests. The current Fayetteville weekend roundup specifically lists Beats & Eats among the Aug. 21–23 events, along with Repticon and several other local activities. Since it keeps you near home, it’s also much easier to adjust around thunderstorms than driving toward Raleigh. ⁠

🏃🎶 #5 — Make Lazy Daze a full Cary day + Night Nation Run — Saturday. After Lazy Daze, stay in Cary for dinner and then Night Nation Run at 5:30 PM. Cary’s official August calendar confirms both events Saturday, along with the Chalk Walk and an ’80s Party at The Cary Theater, giving you several fallback choices if the weather changes.
