* As a reminder, your budget should always be the first consideration and will heavily influence these factors.
1. How many bedrooms do I need? It’s best to have a bedroom for each family member with an additional room for guests. However, if you have a big family this may not be an option.
2. How many bathrooms do I need? On average, a home with 3 bedrooms should have 2 bathrooms.
3. Do I need a primary bedroom and bath? This tends to be more expensive but your home will have higher resale value if you plan to sell in the future.
4. How large does my kitchen need to be? On average a kitchen accounts for up to 15% of a home’s overall square footage but the age of the home can affect this.
