Mortgage rates dipped to 6.47% for the week ending June 18, down 5 basis points from the prior week and well below the 6.81% average recorded during the same period in 2025, according to Freddie Mac. The drop followed President Trump's signing of a 14-point memorandum of understanding with Iran aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting sanctions.

Multigenerational living is rising as housing costs stay high. Nationally 3.8% of households are multigenerational, but Riverside and Honolulu reach 8.9%, with McAllen at 8.5% and Stockton at 8.1%.

Why I love living in Fort Collins

Colorado feels like somebody took every outdoor postcard in America and stacked it into one state. 🏔️🌲☀️

From above, it almost looks unreal.

Massive snow-covered mountains rise straight out of endless plains.
Deep canyons cut through the landscape.
Rivers wind through forests and valleys.
And entire towns sit surrounded by peaks that look too dramatic to be real. 😭

The geography controls everything here.

The Rocky Mountains shape the weather, the culture, the economy, and basically the personality of the entire state. One direction leads to alpine lakes, ski resorts, and pine forests. The other opens into wide-open plains that stretch for miles beneath huge western sunsets.

Even the cities formed around the landscape first:
Denver grew where the mountains meet the plains.
Colorado Springs expanded beneath towering peaks and red rock formations.
Mountain towns like Aspen, Vail, and Breckenridge became world-famous destinations built directly into the Rockies.

And Colorado changes fast depending on where you are.

Eastern Colorado becomes farmland, grasslands, and open skies.
The mountain corridor turns into forests, rivers, ski towns, and winding highways through canyons.
Western Colorado shifts into deserts, cliffs, red rocks, and landscapes that feel closer to Utah than the snowy Rockies people imagine.

And then there’s the weather.

Colorado will casually give you:
• sunshine
• snow
• hail
• wildfire smoke
• and a random thunderstorm

…sometimes all before dinner. 💀

From space, Colorado looks calm.
Blue lakes.
White peaks.
Golden plains.
Tiny cities tucked beside giant mountains.

Meanwhile down below:
• somebody’s stuck behind a Subaru going 14 mph on a mountain road
• an out-of-state tourist underestimated altitude again
• I-70 traffic just became a survival experience
• and someone is skiing in the morning before hiking by sunset 😭

Colorado is adventure, elevation, nature, chaos, weather, and freedom packed into one state.

And honestly?
That’s exactly why people fall in love with it. 🏔️☀️🌲
