Historic Mountain View Lodge For Sale Historic 1930s Mountain View Lodge and Cafe for sale in Far West Texas!

The main lodge was built in the 1930s and operated as a motor court and restaurant for decades. Later, the historic building was converted to a private residence, and an atrium and two sunrooms were added on to expand the space. In 2005 – 2007 eight duplex cabins – housing a total of 16 guest rooms – and a classroom were added to host participants in outdoor education programs. Over the years, the

space has operated nightly rentals, restaurants and catering, and group tours (with a focus on outdoor education). Annual revenue from the various business ventures we have record of – between 2003 to 2021 – ranges from a low of around $200,000 (during the COVID pandemic) to $1,798,000 per year. The local option election to legalize the sale of alcohol in all precincts in Jeff Davis County finally passed! 🥂 🍻 🍸 (Prior to the November election, the four precincts each had different laws surrounding alcohol sales, and our Lodge was in completely dry precinct 3.)

The historic building has space to build a bar, covered back patio, and live music venue. (Photo below is just one example of what’s possible.) Come tour historic Mountain View Lodge to envision what you can do with this unique historic space!

Spencer's Mountain View Lodge was built in the 1930s and operated for decades as a motor court. Since then, an atrium and two sunrooms were added on, so the exterior looks significantly different now. But the hotel rooms still hold their historic charm!

This room is our favorite on the property. We talked to a local woman who worked here as a teenager when “Ms. Spencer served fancy Italian food.”
