✨🏛️ The Snell Building in the Fort Dodge Messenger! 📰💜

We’re excited to see the historic Snell Building featured in the Fort Dodge Messenger during Main Street America’s recent visit to Fort Dodge! 🎉

The visit was part of an accreditation process for Main Street Fort Dodge, giving community leaders an opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening throughout our downtown. ❤️🏙️

It was especially exciting to have the Snell Building included in the tour and to share the updates and improvements happening here! From refreshing our historic lobby and décor to bringing fiber internet to the building and welcoming four new tenants, we’re continuing to invest in the Snell and its future. 🔨✨💼

The Snell Building has been part of downtown Fort Dodge for generations, and we’re proud to play a role in helping bring new energy, businesses and opportunities to this historic building. 💜

🏛️✨ A little history from the Snell Building!

The Snell Building has been a part of downtown Fort Dodge for generations, and we’re proud to be helping write the next chapter of its story. ❤️

Fort Dodge History:
The Snell Building
1915

805 Central Ave.
Built in 1915, the Snell Building was seven stories tall and Fort Dodge’s first “skyscraper.”

Richard Snell, from Clinton Illinois, was the original owner of both the Snell Building and the Boston Centre, both located at 805 and 805 and 809 Central Avenue in downtown Fort Dodge. He received the land on which both buildings are located from his father, Thomas Snell, who owned it when it was originally platted in 1856.

Although the two buildings differed in size, appearance and function, they were both part of the same investment project for Snell. Both buildings were constructed at the same time, however the building for the Boston Store was completed first and had its formal opening in September of 1914, while the Snell Building was completed in January of 1915. It was such a great experience welcoming Main Street America to the Snell Building to see all of the changes and improvements that have happened over the past four months! 🙌💜

Since Brandy Maier Properties & Investments took over management, we’ve been working hard to breathe new life into this historic downtown building. 🏛️🔨✨

Here’s just some of what we’ve accomplished:
