They say Real Estate is in my bones. Meet Janice Ireland Eneyart, my maternal grandmother. I’m so proud to continue her legacy...

In the 1950s, Janice became a real-estate agent and had credit cards in her own name, at a time when few married women did. She worked for Henry Broderick's real estate company, a career that would last for decades. She sold real estate in Seattle’s South End, including the Manhattan Beach area, and was very active in the community.
Janice worked for Broderick until the company was sold to Coldwell Banker. She also worked for the Washington State’s Department of Licensing's Real Estate Division, developing and overseeing real estate education for licensees. While working there, she became close friends with Wing Luke, who went on to become a Seattle city councilman. Luke tragically died in a plane crash, and Janice was among those who helped create a memorial for him, and the Wing Luke Asian Museum was born. Janice Enyeart is also remembered for securing a donation for the site of what is now Highline Community Hospital, and she was a board member of the Metropolitan YMCA before helping to found the Highline YMCA.
