Happy Fun Fact Friday! 🌴 Did you know that some of Florida’s most dramatic weather comes from everyday thunderstorms, not hurricanes? Regular Florida thunderstorms can produce dangerous winds, heavy rain, frequent lightning, and even tornadoes.
People often focus on hurricanes, but everyday summer storms can also be hazardous. The National Weather Service defines a severe thunderstorm as one that produces winds of 58 mph or greater, hail of a certain size, or tornadoes. In Florida, even non-hurricane storms can pack a punch. 🌪
