The largest in-water boat show in the world returns to Fort Lauderdale for the 64th year on Wednesday, October 25. With more than 100,000 attendees expected, you can expect heavy traffic on and around the barrier island.
The event takes place from October 25-29. Anyone planning to attend the boat or show or visit the beach should consider alternative transportation options to get there. For a host of parking and transportation options, please visit the FLIBS website.
There is one road closure associated with the event -- SE 5th Street between Seabreeze Boulevard and North A1A. SE 5th Street will serve as a bus stop location specifically created for the boat show, and the route runs from SE 5th Street to the Broward County Convention Center. Patrons are encouraged to use the Broward County Convention Center parking garages to attend the event. From the convention center, attendees can use either the bus system or the Water Taxi to visit the two other locations for the show.
The downtown parking garages and the parking garage at the Galleria Mall are also designated parking locations for patrons of the event to park and ride the Water Taxi. Additionally, four locations have been designated for pick-up/drop-off for rideshare companies. These locations are close to the event’s main entrance and will allow vehicles to move off the roadway and not block the lanes of traffic.
