Beginning July 1, 2024, in the state of Iowa, a Realtor CAN NOT show you a home unless you have signed an agreement with them. This will be non negotiable for any real estate agent with a Realtor designation (one who agrees in advance to abide by the Code of Ethics).

📝 The form between buyer and Realtor is a Buyer's Representation Agreement. That agreement is basically a contract between you and that REALTOR saying you will be hiring them to purchase a home and agree to the roles, duties and responsibilities owed to you by your agent and your duties to your agent.

🤝Interviewing and coming to an agreement with the agent of your choice is an important decision and not one that should be forced upon you. Interview, and choose wisely your REALTOR. Get referrals from your friends, and make your decision.

These agreements have been around for a long time. Agreements are and always have been negotiated, just like compensation. The good news is that together, we get to decide when our agreement expires.

To anyone who has tried or needs to reach me…My cell phone has NOT been working properly for FOUR DAYS!!!!! I can’t receive phone calls! I can’t make phone calls!!! I can text with SOME iPhones but not others 🤷🏻‍♀️ and definitely not an android phone. I’m receiving emails and some notifications. This has been a process and BEYOND frustrating!!!! This is a Verizon issue and they’re trying to remedy but no efforts so far have worked. Just wanted you all to know. Inspite of some rumors, I am VERY MUCH STILL working…listing and selling real estate!
