Four years ago today, September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian came ashore as a catastrophic Category 5 storm and changed Fort Myers Beach forever. The storm surge measured 15 feet high!
Seeing Seaside Resort afterward was heartbreaking. A place filled with beautiful memories, families, laughter, sunsets, and vacations had been battered by an unimaginable force. The destruction was almost impossible to comprehend—debris everywhere, buildings ripped apart, interiors destroyed.
Since rebuilding, seeing families, friends, and vacationers enjoying the beach, sunsets, and everything Seaside has to offer is a powerful reminder of how far we have come. What was once devastated by Ian is once again a place filled with laughter, sunshine, and memories—and we couldn’t be more grateful to welcome everyone home. 🌴❤️🙏
