I sent this out 20 minutes ago or so, and at least one County Commissioner has NO knowledge of the new rules and restrictions. He has forwarded to staff to reach out to Beach leaders. We need these questions answered and at least some consideration.

LEE CO. COMMISSIONERS AND TOWN COUNCIL FORT MYERS BEACH :

Serious questions on the latest access rules:

QUESTION #1: Are electricians and structural engineers considered essential and permitted on island on Monday and Tuesday as their services are required for repairs and build back? And, will property owners be permitted to attend the inspections on those days? And are adjusters and FEMA considered essential... since their services are required for build back and repairs?

QUESTION #2... Are residents living on the island, as their primary residence or otherwise, permitted to leave and return to Island on Mondays and Tuesdays, to attend already scheduled Dr appts, mail pickup, etc? Or, do residents living on the island need to cancel these appointments?

QUESTION #3: Are those of us living on the island ordered to shelter in place and not permitted to leave their residence, or are we permitted to go to stations for water pick up and other services and supplies?

QUESTION #4: How long will this be in effect?

QUESTION #5: Is there any buffer time possible for those who have already scheduled the required essential inspections and services... or possibly delay the new rule by one week since this just popped up late today, Friday, while many have traveled long distances and made appts. based on the last rules in effect until just this afternoon?

QUESTION #6: Will id's be checked and if so, does our Town Council and Manager know who will be checking the ids this time?

QUESTION #7: Has anyone considered 7 pm to 7 am for repairs and services as there are very, very few residents who will be bothered or affected?

QUESTION #8: How are we going to attend the Public Safety meeting on Monday and more importantly, how are we going to attend and participate in the extremely important Town Council meeting on Tuesday, the last before our electiin, which has now been re-scheduled on the Island and not a remote location. (We aren't allowed on the Island on Tuesday).
