Hurricane IAN left terrible conditions on Fort Myers Beach and in many other parts of Southwest Florida. So many people lost their partners and/or loved ones or their entire homes. Fort Myers Beach, where we all love to be, has given us so many wonderful moments and memories. Currently, thoughts of Fort Myers Beach make us very, very sad and we think about it every second.

All we know at this time is that BigBlue still exits. There is an aerial photo that was taken after the hurricane and after the storm surge. The residents of the island are not allowed to return to their homes until further notice. People are still being rescued. Today we received a message that the waste water system is down indefinitely. The town cannot process used water from baths, toilets or sinks. Maybe the whole sewer system is filled with sand.

We will visit BigBlue when it will be allowed to return to the homes. And then we will see what happened. It will certainly be very emotional. We will continue to let you know if we hear anything new about BigBlue.

The Edison and Ford Winters Estates offers something a little out of the ordinary. The site includes the winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford and 20 acres of botanical gardens!
