I think anybody who lives in and around the Fort Myers area needs to be outraged. The house passed the hurricane relief bill but the Senate has tabled the bill. I guess our government does not think that those of us who lost pretty much everything they own due to hurricane Ian is entitled to receive any kind of relief from our government! We all need to be outraged and we all need to reach out to our congressman and senators, and tell them how outraged we are. This is such an insult to all of us who went through these hurricanes in Florida. Please make your voices heard and tell our government that this is not how they treat those who have lost so much already. I would like to know why our local and National media isn’t all over this information. If they’re in our corner or out to look after us, maybe they need to have a story about this hurricane relief bill and help us cause public outrage! Wink news! Fox in your corner! Help the people in this area and let them know what is happening with this bill and who they can contact.

Damages from Hurricane Ian are extensive and it will take a lot of work and a long time for the residents and businesses to recover, but Fort Myers Beach is a strong tight knit community and we will flourish. It will be paradise again and the beaches will be beautiful soon. Thank you to everyone who has called and texted me. Thank you to everyone who has helped us with the clean up effort.

I am proud to be an American. My wish for the future is that politicians and media will quit acting like they are bratty children and get along. The way to make our country the best it can be is to work together and help one another. Enough of the quarreling. Do what is in the best interest of the country and not use this time for political gain. We shouldn’t be divided. We need to be united. It is in our name “the United States of America”!
