This painting by Wendy Wallace features Carroll A. Deering, a ship whose wrecking is steeped in mystery due to there being no one onboard when the lifesaving crew rowed out to the vessel. Here we have many artifacts from the wreck, obtained from vendues, or auctions that occur after a wrecking event. They include the captain’s desk, the capstan, ship’s bell, a silver flask and wash basin and you can view a model of the five-masted vessel.
