Simmons & Cook was proud to sponsor the Annual Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club Spaghetti Dinner Saturday night. 🍝

This year, Gus Simmons was officially handed the chef’s apron after George — the longtime sauce master for the event — passed the chef's apron! George’s instructions were simple: “a little of this, a little of that… just make it by taste.” That was the entire recipe.

Gus spent the day at the Community House stirring giant pots of sauce and learning the ropes. We’ll just say the first batch may have been a bit of a learning experience… but with each pot things improved.

He did have a little help from his wife along the way, and together they managed to keep the sauce (and the event) moving right along.

Thankfully, no official complaints have been filed with Kiwanis yet, so we’re calling it a success. George set the bar high, but Gus may be considering a bold new strategy for next year… using an actual recipe. 😄🍝

The best part? Gus didn’t just attend—he got drafted into the hibachi show! 🎭🍳 (Yes, the egg toss was a success… lawyer precision at its finest.)
