Today, MyTown Communities had the opportunity to attend the “Weathering the Storm: 2026 Hurricane Outlook” Lunch & Learn in Fort Myers featuring Allyson Rae, Chief Meteorologist with NBC2/Gulf Coast News.

It was a great discussion on what forecasters are expecting for the 2026 hurricane season, how Southwest Florida communities can better prepare, and the importance of proactive planning before storms develop.

As a condominium and homeowners’ association management company, hurricane preparedness is a critical part of protecting the communities we serve. From communication planning and vendor coordination to property inspections and emergency response preparation, these conversations help ensure communities are better prepared before a storm ever approaches.

One of the biggest ongoing challenges for many communities before and after a storm is navigating insurance coverage, claims, timelines, and recovery coordination. Having proper preparation, documentation, vendor relationships, and communication plans in place can make a significant difference when communities are working through storm recovery and insurance-related issues.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize today’s event and to Allyson Rae for sharing valuable insights and education ahead of hurricane season.
