1. Rising Homeowners Association (HOA) Fees and Maintenance Costs: Following the tragic collapse of the Champlain Towers South in Surfside in 2021, Florida implemented stricter safety regulations for condominiums. These regulations require associations to maintain adequate reserves for major repairs and conduct regular structural inspections. As a result, many condo owners, especially in older buildings, are facing significant increases in HOA fees to cover these mandated expenses. ​

2. Escalating Insurance Premiums: Florida has been experiencing a property insurance crisis, with premiums rising sharply due to recent hurricanes and increased risk assessments. This surge in insurance costs adds a financial burden on condo owners, making both ownership and potential purchases less attractive.

3. Higher mortgage interest rates: This has made borrowing more expensive, reducing affordability for potential buyers and dampening demand in the real estate market.

There are many more reasons, however the OASIS is one of the very few Condo Buildings, where HOA fees have gone down. The SIRS Study and Non-SIRS studies are available and these condos are literally "hurricane" safe.
