After all my years in real estate—as both an owner and a Property Manager—I have never encountered a situation quite like this. A tenant who, for four months, has made excuse after excuse for nonpayment, and now submit me and my business with a legal summons with a claim of "false accusations."

It breaks my heart more than it angers me.

At almost 65 years old, I’ve lived my life with the hope that compassion, generosity, and reason would guide my every decision. I’ve always told my clients: I’m not the person who chases money—I chase respect. That principle has allowed me to build not just a successful business, but a reputation I’ve taken great care to protect.

Now, I find myself being sued for over $14,000. And still, despite everything, I tried to help her—not for her sake, but for her son’s. He didn’t ask to be caught in this whirlwind. And I can only pray the world he grows up in teaches grace and accountability more gently than this moment does.

This may just be the beginning of a longer saga. I will keep this audience informed as it unfolds. For now, I remain someone who tries to help—though I confess, I must not have been granted the divine gift of accerment, that rare insight to know who truly carries truth in their heart.

May clarity and peace find all of us in time.
