Last night I attended Building the Healthcare Facility of Tomorrow: Rehabilitate, Renovate or Replace at Arthrex

Great networking, meaningful conversations and a really unique immersive educational experience.

For me, events like this are an important part of working in healthcare real estate. The more I understand what healthcare leaders are thinking about, from facilities and operations to patient experience and future growth, the better resource I can be to the physicians and healthcare organizations I represent.

And getting to experience it right here in Naples made it even better.

✨ Three years with CARR and when I look back, what stands out most are the people and the relationships built along the way.

Timing matters in healthcare real estate.

Whether you’re starting a practice, relocating, purchasing a practice, renewing a lease, or developing a new location, starting early can give you more options and stronger negotiating leverage.

As a general planning guideline:

📅 10–12 months: Start-up, relocation, or evaluating your existing space

📅 18–24 months: Land acquisition and ground-up development

📅 60–90 days: Practice purchase involving a new lease

Every situation is different, but one thing is consistent: waiting too long can limit your choices and reduce your leverage.

There’s something special about helping a healthcare provider take the next step in their practice. 🔑
