Take a kid fishing day this year is going to be incredible! Mark your calendars and please share! Every kid should have the opportunity to go fishing!  this year the The is going All In! has been leading the pack for years with “take a kid fishing” along with so many charter boats and captains and volunteers! I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer and it’s pretty incredible.

THIS YEAR'S TAKE A KID FISHING DAY JUST GOT A WHOLE LOT BIGGER!!!!!!!!

Our friends with Visit Destin-Fort Walton Beach and Emerald Coast Reef Association have come together and chipped in to cover admissions for the pier FOR EVERYONE on the day of TAKE A KID FISHING DAY!!!!!

Fishing? Taking a Stroll? Coming by to say Hey to Tina The Turtle?! The Pier will be FREE ACCESS from 7am - 9pm on 10.4.2026!!!!!!

The Take A KID FISHING EVENT and its vendors will wrap at 4pm, but admissions will be free until Close at 9pm!

FIRST 100 KIDS GET A FREE ROD & REEL COMBO to take home thanks to Coastal Conservation Association Florida

OTHER KIDS 12 and UNDER may use our rental equipment FREE of charge as they are available, we do encourage you to bring your own gear!

Anyone over 12, needing equipment may rent equipment as it is made available!

Bait will be provided by St. Joe Shrimp Co. as supplies last....

Tackle will be provided for the kids by Okaloosa Island Pier and Half Hitch Destin

Educational and Conservational vendors will be set up along the pier......

We will have the infamous Little Painting & Maintenance concession stand cranking out all the goods!

Fishing instruction by not only our pier staff, but local anglers and charter captains!

This is going to be a huge event not only to get the kids fishing, but for folks that maybe haven't had the opportunity to come pay us a visit!
