πŸ“’ Exciting news for Fort Wayne's southeast side! 🏑✨ Despite previous misconceptions, the momentum is building, and positive developments are taking shape in our community. πŸŒ‡πŸš€

Two new living accommodations have been proposed near the heart of the southeast side. Jack Dadou has plans for 16 one and two-bedroom apartments at South Lafayette and Sherwood Terrace, and another application has been submitted for 11 market-rate but affordable townhome rentals on McKinnie Avenue at Abbott Street. 🏘️🌳

These projects are part of a larger initiative by Think Southeast, an organization aiming to improve and develop the southeast while offering affordable living options for our community. Their dedication is commendable! πŸ’ͺ🀝

But that's not all! Over the past year, we've witnessed a series of positive developments, including the groundbreaking of the Roosevelt Reserves housing development by Jerry Starks and the opening of a Starbucks on South U.S. 27, accompanied by other valuable additions. β˜•πŸ’πŸ˜οΈ

The City of Fort Wayne is actively involved in the revitalization efforts. Thanks to the Proactive Rezoning Work Group, the East Pontiac Street corridor will receive a much-needed facelift. This is just one example of how our city is committed to enhancing our community's appeal. πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈπŸ™οΈ

Mayor Tom Henry is thrilled about the progress and emphasizes the importance of southeast Fort Wayne's success. He mentions various ongoing projects, such as the Pontiac Street Market, a resurfacing package, the Hanna Street Trail extension, and planned water mains on McKinnie Avenue. Additionally, we can look forward to a future Culver's restaurant and the exciting Village Premier development. πŸ›’πŸš§πŸŒ³

Let's not forget the recent restoration of Powell Park and the construction of McKinnie Commons, both contributing to creating vibrant gathering spaces. Furthermore, ABF Freight has opened a new facility, bringing job opportunities to our community. πŸ’ΌπŸŒ³πŸŒ³

It's clear that the southeast is rising, and we're on the right track to building a better future together! πŸŒŸπŸ—οΈ Let's continue supporting these developments and showcasing the hidden gem that is southeast Fort Wayne! πŸ’Žβ€οΈ
