Did you know you shouldn’t always cut your lawn on the same day or at the same height throughout the season? You have to make adjustments around the weather. This can mean mowing sometime mow often or less often but the most important adjustment is the height at which you mow. The next few weeks it will be important to make adjustments. Moisture and nutrients are stored in the top 1/3 of the grass blade. The longer the grass blade is the larger that 1/3 becomes and it can significantly help your lawn during extreme heat periods.

We will be adjusting the deck heights up a notch or 2 on our mowers. this coming week to help you lawns hold more moisture. This is key to help your grass stay nice and green during extreme heat.

⚠️ Flash drought is possible across portions of Northern Indiana over the next 2 weeks, especially NW Indiana!

A flash drought can develop surprisingly fast when a stretch of hot, sunny, and dry weather combineto rapidly pull moisture out of the soil. Unlike traditional droughts that develop over months, flash droughts can intensify in just a couple of weeks, stressing crops, browning lawns, cracking soils, and forcing plants to work harder to find water. Across northern Indiana, persistent sunshine and above-normal heat can accelerate evaporation and plant water uptake, causing topsoil moisture to disappear quickly and even lowering the water table if dry conditions persist.
