On Friday at one of our closings, we had a special request from one of our lenders and buyers. The Hernandez kids were so excited about their new home and their mom wanted them to be a part of the closing transaction. She created a Junior Homeownership Agreement for them to sign at closing.
The purpose of the agreement was to recognize that they are an important part of their family and that the home is a place of love, growth and shared memories. Their responsibilities as part of this agreement is to respect their home, take responsibility for their space and belongings and to help keep their home kind, safe and peaceful. The parent responsibility of this agreement is to hold full legal and financial responsibility for the home including ownership, payments and maintenance. The agreement ended with a Faith Statement: We thank God for this home and ask for his protection, peace and blessings over their family and all who enter. Each child signed their name and the parents witnessed!
