Your bank is perfectly happy collecting 30 years of interest. They're not losing any sleep hoping you figure this out.

But here's what they're not advertising on their website 👆🏼

A 30-year mortgage is the MAX timeline. Not the only one.

And the math on paying it down faster is almost embarrassing once you see it:

• 1 extra payment per year = 5 years gone
• 2 extra payments per year = 8 years gone
• 3 extra payments per year = 11 years gone

That's potentially 11 years of your life you don't have to spend writing a check to your lender.

Now here's the part people always ask: where does the extra payment money come from?

A few places I've seen work really well:

• Split your monthly payment in half and pay biweekly instead (you end up making 1 extra payment naturally)
• Drop your tax refund straight onto principal every spring
• Any raise or bonus hits the mortgage FIRST before lifestyle creep gets to it

The bank built the 30-year schedule because it makes THEM the most money.

You're allowed to run a different play.
