Buyers are making compromises, and that is OKAY!

Because inventory remains low in this super competitive market, those “dream homes” that tick all the boxes of your priorities (and wants, too) are elusive.

The advice for homebuyers: If you’re facing some indecision when it comes to whether or not to make an offer, the 80% rule is a good rule to stick by. It means if a home meets 80% of your criteria, you should make a bid. List out 10 important features, and if they’re all of the equal priority then you can use the 80/20 rule. If you have some higher priority items, then you should really be focused on those and know that everything else can be a compromise.

Making a list of your wants and needs can make the home search process a little less intimidating. You can add things as obvious as "Three bedrooms" or something not-so-obvious like "Is there a place to put the cat box?" While the latter may not be a deal breaker, it is helpful when all is said and done!
