A new report shows the Dallas-Fort Worth housing market is beginning to stabilize, with early signs of improved buyer activity in 2026 — though challenges remain.

According to a first-quarter analysis from Residential Strategies Inc., a Texas-based new home market research and consulting company, builders entered the year “on a cautiously optimistic note,” citing stronger traffic and sales momentum despite a “still-challenging demand backdrop.”

Several Fort Worth ISD schools are now part of ELEVATE, the district’s new instructional model designed to strengthen teaching and give students more support during the school day.

The Fort Worth ISD Board of Managers approved this change on April 14, and we want to share what it means for your child.

More instructional staff available to teach, uplift, and support your child

Strengthening already existing instructional time

Instruction will be adjusted in real time, with students moving forward to Mastery Labs if they’re ready or spending more time on the lesson if not

DFW homeowners are also entering the best time of the year to sell their houses, which could add a sudden sense of competitiveness for buyers.

"Between 2025 and 2026, the typical home value in large U.S. cities actually declined by 1.04 percent, with values dropping in 70 percent of cities," the report's author wrote. "But the full range of changes from market to market ran the gamut from -9.1 percent to +5.01 percent, putting both hopeful buyers and homeowners in starkly different environments across the nation."
