Today, we honor Juneteenth...a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of equality.
On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free. Juneteenth serves as a powerful reminder of our nation's history and the importance of continuing to build a more just and inclusive future.
As we celebrate this day, let us reflect, learn, and recognize the contributions, achievements, and strength of Black Americans throughout history and today.
