What a day in Frankfort! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️ IRONMAN Michigan 70.3 brought incredible energy to our little corner of northern Michigan today. From the 8 a.m. start and 1.2-mile swim through Betsie Bay, to 56 miles on the bike, followed by a 13.1-mile run, athletes covered an amazing 70.3 miles with crowds cheering them on along the way.

Race day is about so much more than the finish line. It’s the volunteers, families, signs, cowbells, cheers from complete strangers, and that moment when an athlete realizes, I’m going to finish this. And Frankfort gets to be the backdrop for all of it. ❤️

Nothing fancy. Just really good breakfast. ☕🍳🥞 A little shoutout to Rosie’s in Thompsonville, one of those local spots that has earned its loyal following. Big breakfasts, hot coffee, generous portions, and the kind of place that feels comfortably unchanged in all the right ways.

Fair warning: weekends can mean a wait, but there’s a reason for that. The locals know. If you’re in the Thompsonville area and breakfast is calling, Rosie’s is definitely worth putting on your list!

Someone else’s best friend had the right idea tonight. 🐾 There’s just something about September sunsets on Lake Michigan. The colors get a little richer, the beach gets a little quieter, and even the four-legged locals know when it’s worth stopping to watch.

Late summer evenings on Lake Michigan have their own kind of magic. The kite surfers were making the most of the wind, including one who caught a gust, launched high into the air and seemed to hang there for a moment before the wind carried him along. Pretty incredible to watch!

Summer is winding down, school starts here on Tuesday, and somehow we’re already at Labor Day weekend. I hope you’re finding a little time to soak up these last summer evenings, watch the sunset and enjoy wherever this long weekend takes you. 💛
