Listening to the Today Show talking about the “new rules of real estate”. He says people will have more negotiating power. Here is the TRUTH: commissions have always been negotiable! I have bought and sold 8 homes myself and I have always negotiated commissions! There is no new rule about commissions. The media drives me nuts.
The new rules are:
1- starting 8/17 realtors can no longer show a property without a signed buyer rep or touring agreement.
2- commissions which have been disclosed on the MLS, no longer will be.
Ask me questions.. I’d love to clear up confusion. We sadly cannot trust the media for absolute truth.
