I think one of the biggest misconceptions about real estate agents is that our job is mostly showing houses.

Showing the house is actually the easy part.

My job is noticing the things you may not know to look for, asking questions you may not know to ask, helping you understand the contract you’re signing, watching deadlines, communicating with lenders and title companies, negotiating when things get complicated, and sometimes simply saying, “I don’t think this is the one.”

My goal isn’t to get you into a house.

It’s to help you make a decision you’ll still feel good about after the excitement wears off.

One thing I wish more people knew about real estate:

You don’t have to be ready to buy or sell before you talk to a real estate agent.

Sometimes you just have questions.

“Could we afford to move?”
“What would our house actually sell for?”
“Should we fix this before selling?”
“Where do we even start?”
“Is now a terrible time to buy?”

Those conversations are part of my job too.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes the first step is simply talking it through with someone who knows the process.

And I’m always happy to be that person.
