Exciting news for Murfreesboro residents! Child Care Deve GP LLC and Murfreesboro City Schools, in collaboration with the City of Murfreesboro, recently announced the transformation of the Cason Lane Children's Center into a new MCS Preschool location. Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, Cason Lane Academy Preschool will offer enhanced educational opportunities for approximately 160 students across eight classrooms.

The acquisition of the 9,100-square-foot building by the City of Murfreesboro marks an important milestone. The purchase, amounting to $3.725 million, was made possible through a combination of funding sources.

Nature excursions are being held throughout the week, allowing participants to explore and learn about the local flora and fauna with the guidance of naturalists. These excursions will take place in different locations, such as the North Murfreesboro Greenway, Stones River National Battlefield, Siegel Natural Area, and Overbridge State Natural Area. These nature walks are free, but registration is required.

In addition to the nature excursions, there are volunteer stewardship activities taking place throughout the week. These activities involve removing kudzu, litter cleanup, garden maintenance, and helping with the long-running eastern box turtle research project.

Originally opened in 1980 as Reeves-Powell Drug Store, the name changed to Reeves-Sain in 1994 when pharmacist Rick Sain became an owner. For twenty more years, Reeves-Sain was known as Murfreesboro's favorite hometown pharmacy before its closure in 2018 due to the company that acquired the pharmacy, Fred's Dollar Discount Store, closed business operations.

Residents can once again enjoy exceptional pharmacy knowledge and state-of-the-art services that include prescriptions, compounding services, and immunizations.

Murfreesboro City Schools (MCS) recently celebrated the graduation of 25 teachers from the 2022-23 Gifted Academy Cohort who received their Tennessee Employment Standard for Gifted Teaching on March 4. The academy, sponsored by The Jennings and Rebecca Jones Foundation, MTSU, and MCS, aims to expand gifted education programs by equipping teachers with tools to identify and engage gifted students. Since its inception in 2015, over 200 teachers have graduated from the program.

The Gifted Academy allows classroom teachers to participate in professional development to learn additional approaches to delivering instruction to address the unique needs of advanced students.

Crews are continuing work on Pet Paradise, under construction now at 2500 Rideout Lane in Murfreesboro near the AMC Murfreesboro 16 movie theater, with plans to have the new pet resort open by the summer. The upcoming Murfreesboro location for Pet Paradise will be the first facility of two planned for Tennessee. A second is also under construction in Chattanooga.

Pet Paradise is a Jacksonville-based comprehensive pet care provider offering boarding, day camp, and grooming, as well as experienced and compassionate services with NewDay Veterinary Care for your dog or cat.

This impressive 110,000-square-foot facility is set to open this spring at the Richard Siegel Park athletic complex and aims to be the centerpiece of the city's drive to become a regional destination for youth soccer. The indoor soccer complex features amenities such as synthetic turf, safety measures for practice and protection, as well as an exhaust fan system that will make the facility cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

However, the new complex will not just be for soccer players and a few soccer games. It will also serve as a venue for indoor events.
