It’s hard to imagine Tennessee without Dolly 💔

She was so much more than one of country music’s biggest stars. She represented so much of what people love about this state: kindness, humor, generosity, faith in where you come from, and the ability to dream much bigger than your circumstances.

Her music traveled around the world, but Tennessee was always home. And here in Nashville, her influence is woven into so much of the city and the country music community she helped shape.

However you choose to remember her, this week feels like a reminder of just how deeply Dolly’s story is woven into Tennessee.

The music will always be here. The places will always carry the memories. And Nashville will always be a little brighter because Dolly was part of it.

Everyone asks which Nashville suburb is the “best,” and I definitely have my favorites.

Brentwood is always going to be at the top of my list. I’m biased because I live here, but between the neighborhoods, schools, parks, proximity to Nashville, and overall quality of life, it’s hard to beat.

But there are several suburbs around Nashville that I think deserve to be in the conversation:

Brentwood
Franklin
Nolensville
Hendersonville
Mount Juliet

Each one offers something completely different, which is why choosing where to live is about a lot more than picking the suburb everyone else is talking about.

The best homes aren’t always the ones with the most square footage or the longest list of upgrades. It’s how the home actually lives that can make the biggest difference.

When I’m walking through a property with a client, I’m paying attention to things beyond the finishes: Does the layout flow naturally? Where does the morning light come in? Is there enough space between furniture areas? Can you picture yourself actually using the rooms every day?

A beautiful room photographs well. A well-designed home makes everyday life better.

Every fall, Cheekwood completely transforms for Cheekwood Harvest, and it’s one of those Nashville traditions that never gets old.

Thousands of pumpkins, colorful mums, changing leaves, pumpkin houses, scarecrows, and acres of gardens that somehow get even prettier once October rolls around.

Grab a coffee, wander through the gardens, take way too many pictures, and make an afternoon out of it. It’s hard to believe a place like this exists right here in Nashville.

And honestly, places like Cheekwood are part of what makes living in Middle Tennessee so special. You can have the restaurants, music, and energy of Nashville while still being surrounded by parks, gardens, lakes, trails, and some seriously beautiful Tennessee scenery.
