This is how low down business folk can be. Now this non-minority business owners, doing business in a predominantly black community threw my business cards in the trash and kept my card holders. This happened twice with this business.
I won’t divulge the business name because of the nice lady who works there. I do not want to jeopardize anyone’s job.
Realizing it is not the nice lady’s business. I always emphasized, if this is an issue let me know and I will pick them up; she didn’t think it was an issue. However, I stopped to drop off some things and noticed the cards were gone. She hadn’t noticed and looked around for them. We assumed maybe my competitor swiped them. She thought surely if the owners had a problem they would have said something. So I replaced the cards and holder.
The 2nd incident: Several months went by and she called me one day and said, “Ms. Natalie, we’re your cards here yesterday when you came in?” We always chat for a moment if she’s not too busy and the cards were there. I checked back weekly to see if she had found them.
How I came to be there on THAT day when the nice lady just happened to pick up the trash bag to move it because she was going to go through it to look for my business cards, is all God. As she moved the bag. I said, “there they are!” at the bottom of the clear trash bag. Look at God! She couldn’t believe it! She said, “Ms. Natalie, I told them if it was a problem you would come and get them, but they never said it was an issue.” So it was either the white man or his Asian wife that did it, who are profiting off the black community.
I won’t smash their name because God contends with those who contend with me. I need only to be still.
I wanted to share how some businesses smile in your face, profit off of YOU doing business with them, but would never support your black business. (And No, wasn’t KFC) 😒
