After living in Middle Tennessee myself, there are a few things I’d care WAY more about than finding the prettiest house on Zillow 👀

If I were relocating my family here today, I wouldn’t compromise on:

🌊 The lifestyle outside the house. Do you want lake days, trails and more room to breathe? Or do you want restaurants, entertainment and everything five minutes away?

🚗 Your actual everyday drive. Nashville might look close on a map, but where you live can completely change your day-to-day commute.

🏡 The kind of neighborhood your family actually wants. Big backyard? Sidewalks and neighborhood amenities? New construction? Golf course? Acreage? Those choices can point you toward completely different parts of Middle Tennessee.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 What everyday life looks like for your family. Where you’ll grab coffee, spend Saturday morning, take the kids, grocery shop and build a community matters just as much as the house.

📍 Location over the “perfect” house. Countertops can change. Paint can change. You can renovate a bathroom. You can’t pick up your house and move it 20 minutes closer to the life you actually wanted.

Gallatin, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, Nashville, Franklin and Clarksville all offer very different versions of Middle Tennessee living.

That’s why I don’t just help families find a house — I help them figure out where their life fits first.

This is one of the reasons I love living in Gallatin.

You can grab coffee on the square, walk to locally owned restaurants and shops, catch an event downtown — and still be about 30 miles from Nashville.

It’s the kind of place that still feels like a hometown while giving you access to everything Middle Tennessee has to offer.

The house might be what brings you to Gallatin… but the lifestyle is what makes you stay. 👇

After living in Middle Tennessee for years and now raising my family in Gallatin, these are 3 “mistakes” I see people make when they’re considering a move here:

1️⃣ Thinking Nashville = date night.
We love Nashville, but I’m not fighting Nashville traffic every time my wife and I want dinner. 😂 Gallatin has plenty of local spots to explore, and Hendersonville gives you even more options just down the road.

2️⃣ Forgetting we live next to OLD HICKORY LAKE.
Seriously. If you’re relocating here, put this on your list. Boating, fishing, kayaking, waterfront neighborhoods and some ridiculous Tennessee sunsets. 🌅

3️⃣ Picking a house before picking the right PART of Gallatin.
This is the big one.

Golf-course living? ⛳️
Lake lifestyle? 🚤
New construction? 🏡
More land? 🌳
Closer to historic downtown?
Certain school zones?

Two homes with “Gallatin, TN” on the address can give you two very different versions of living here.

That’s why I tell relocating families: don’t start with Zillow. Start with the lifestyle you want, then find the house that fits it.

If I were moving to Gallatin and wanted to live near a golf course, Fairway Farms would definitely be on my shortlist. ⛳️🏡

And I might be a little biased… because this is my neighborhood.

Fairway Farms is an established Gallatin community located near Long Hollow Golf Course, with a mix of home styles, landscaped streets, sidewalks, and easy access to the things I use around Gallatin every day.

One of the reasons I want to start showing more neighborhoods like this is because photos of houses only tell you so much.

If you’re considering moving to Gallatin, you probably want to know:

What does the neighborhood actually feel like?
What do the streets and homes look like?
Where is it in relation to everything?
And could I actually picture myself living there?

That’s the stuff I want to show you.

And since I actually live in Fairway Farms, I can give you a perspective you’re probably not getting from a listing description. 😂
