🇺🇸 Hoosier Veterans – Important Property Tax Update! 🇺🇸

Great news for our fellow veterans! A new property tax law (HEA 1210) just took effect, expanding relief for totally disabled veterans. Eligible 100% service-connected disabled vets can now receive a 100% property tax deduction on their primary residence – meaning no property taxes on your homestead.
This is huge relief for those who have sacrificed so much. Registration window is open – act soon to take advantage!

If you have questions about eligibility, how to apply, or how this (and other recent property tax changes) affects your situation, give me a call. As a fellow veteran and real estate professional, I’m here to help Hoosiers navigate this.

It’s officially that time of year… vacation mode is loading. ☀️✈️

My wife and I are heading out for our annual getaway—a week where we unplug from the chaos of everyday life (and yes, even parenthood for a few days 😅) to focus on each other and enjoy simply being husband and wife.

Life moves fast, schedules get packed, and responsibilities never seem to slow down. That’s why time like this is important—to recharge, reconnect, laugh, relax, and make memories together.

I’ll still have access to technology if anyone needs me, but responses may be a little slower while I trade emails and phone calls for sunshine and quality time.

Appreciate everyone’s support, and I hope you all make time to step away and enjoy the people who matter most too.

Did you know many veterans and eligible service members can buy a home with a VA loan and often no down payment? It’s one of the most valuable benefits earned through military service, yet many people don’t realize how powerful it can be.

As a veteran myself, helping military families navigate homeownership means a lot to me because I’ve personally used the benefit multiple times. I used a VA loan to buy a home twice, and I used a third VA loan to build the home my family that is currently under construction. I know firsthand how life-changing this benefit can be when used the right way.

How a VA Loan Works:

A VA loan is backed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, which helps approved lenders offer better terms to eligible borrowers. It is designed to make homeownership more affordable and accessible for those who served.

Some Major Benefits of a VA Loan:
-No down payment in many cases
-No private mortgage insurance (PMI), which can save hundreds each month
-Competitive interest rates
-Flexible credit guidelines compared to many conventional loans
-Can be used for purchasing a home, refinancing, or even building a new home
-Limited closing costs and added borrower protections
Why It Matters:

For many military families, the VA loan can be the difference between waiting years to buy a home and getting into one sooner while keeping more money in savings.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you qualify, how the process works, or if now is the right time to use your benefit, I’d be honored to help point you in the right direction.

Memorial Day is not just a long weekend or the start of summer. It is a solemn day of remembrance for the brave men and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation and the freedoms we enjoy every day.

After serving on Active Duty in the United States Army for over 20 years, this day carries deep meaning for me. I will forever be grateful for the brothers and sisters in arms who never made it home. Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to live free today.

Today, I ask everyone to take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember those who gave everything for this country. They are not forgotten.

One of the biggest concerns we continue to hear from members of Congress regarding the HELPER Act is the idea of 100% financing.

But here’s the reality: the issue for many essential workers is not the monthly payment — it’s saving a large down payment while balancing rising rent costs, student loans, childcare expenses, and the everyday cost of living.

The HELPER Act is designed to help qualified professionals like teachers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel achieve homeownership through responsible lending standards modeled after the success of the VA loan program.

These are not reckless borrowers. These are professionals who show up every single day to serve our communities. They maintain stable careers, provide critical services, and dedicate their lives to helping others.

We already trust these professionals with our children, our safety, our health, and our communities. We should also trust them with responsible pathways to homeownership.

Helping essential workers buy homes in the communities they serve creates stronger neighborhoods, better workforce retention, and long-term community stability.

The HELPER Act isn’t about “free houses.” It’s about creating opportunity for the people who hold our communities together every day. 🇺🇸
