4 things to pay attention to when touring homes with buyers

A house can check every box on paper and still not make sense for the way you actually live.

Walking through a home means thinking past the pretty kitchen and the bedroom count.

How are you getting into the house every day with groceries, kids, car seats or dogs. Does the layout actually work for your family. Where is the laundry compared to the bedrooms. Which bathroom are your guests using. Does the house feel bright and open, or are you turning on every light at noon.

And if deferred maintenance shows up during a showing, that's worth noting too.

None of these things automatically make a house a no. They're just part of figuring out whether you'll love actually living there, not just whether you love it during a showing.

Because that's the part that matters once the keys are yours.
