File this under the creepy, but interesting!

I was inspecting a 1940’s house with a stone crawlspace recently and I noticed what looked like white spiders everywhere. If that wasn’t bad enough, evidently the spiders had been overtaken by a fungus! This is commonly caused by entomopathogenic fungi — fungi that infect insects and spiders in damp environments. Crawlspaces with elevated humidity, organic debris, poor airflow, and abundant spiders create ideal conditions. CREEPY! YET, INTERESTING!
