Unlike many of our peers, we are not a real estate investment trust but privately owned by Bob Nicolls and his family who actually care about their people and the investments they make. ff and solely founded Monarch Investment & Management Group, AKA “Monarch”, “MIMG”. We currently own and self-manage over 72,000 apartment homes in 20 states, making us the 8th largest multifamily owner in the country. In addition, Monarch operates a nationally franchised hotel and a ski and snowboard resort. Our teams are highly experienced in all facets of real estate acquisition/disposition, management, and financing. We are more than just a broker and more than just a property management company. We research, acquire, own, operate, and maintain all of our properties. During due diligence we are onsite; to inspect the physical asset, review all leasing history and current operations, and scrutinize the property to our own high standards. We are personally invested and highly motivated to maintain high occupancy rates and effectively manage our communities. Unlike our competitors, we do everything possible in-house, including property acquisition, asset management, property management, maintenance, accounting, marketing, training, recruiting, legal, and common capital project crews such as parking lot sealing, roofing, and exterior paint teams. This means that we outperform the industry and have control over all aspects of our investments. We manage what we own and don’t manage other people’s property. So, first and foremost, we are an in-house property management company with no unstable 3rd party management contracts! This also means that we are always on the lookout for great talent to help us grow in every area of the business.
