This vehicle was made in Michigan and sold through Middle Park Auto on Main Street in Granby to the Sniders for the Snider Ranch, less than half a mile away in Granby, Colorado, in 1976.
It remained with the ranch, and that is where it sits today. In working this sale, we talked with locals who said they remember getting picked up in the Bronco in bad weather on their way home from school by the Sniders.
The Bronco passed to Gary and Alice Nordloh when they purchased the ranch in 1996. Gary had it restored in 2006 to 2007, and those records are attached.
It has such a cool provenance in the high country of Colorado on a historic ranch, then passing to an amazing couple, the Nordlohs, who truly appreciated that history and did the restoration with that in mind. Gary proudly displaying his trophy from a local car show speaks to this.
The Snider Ranch is a place that will continue its legacy, with the bulk of the land in a protected land trust and a smaller portion with the house and barns guided by a special deed that restricts its use to historic purposes. The beneficiary of this estate being CSU Veterinary School seems fitting.
This Bronco is a tangible and beautiful object that has been along for the journey and represents the true spirit of the mountain west.
The restoration completed in 2007 was respectful of its first owner's legacy, the ranch, and the vehicle itself. Gary Nordloh was only the second owner. He bought it with the ranch where it was originally used, and it stayed less than half a mile from the small town dealership where it was purchased new in 1976.
