New change effective 8/3/26:

🚧 Construction & Demolition Debris No Longer Accepted at Two Residential Refuse Centers Beginning August 3

Beginning August 3, 2026, the Chancellor Residential Refuse Center and Berkeley Residential Refuse Center will no longer accept Construction & Demolition (C&D) debris.

What is Construction & Demolition (C&D) Debris?

Construction and demolition debris includes materials generated from building, remodeling, repair, or demolition projects, including:

• Wood, lumber, and pallets
• Drywall and plaster
• Roofing shingles and roofing materials
• Concrete, brick, block, and masonry
• Carpet and flooring materials
• Cabinets, doors, and windows
• Siding, insulation, and similar building materials
• Debris from sheds, decks, fences, and similar structures

✅ Materials Still Accepted

Both residential refuse centers will continue to accept:

• Household waste
• Single-stream recycling
• Metal
• Yard waste
• Bulky household items (furniture, toys, lamps, etc.)
• Mattresses (limit of 2 sets per day)
• Oil, antifreeze, paint, and other household hazardous materials
• Passenger vehicle tires (limit of 6 per day)

This change will help improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and provide better service for residential customers.

Where Can I Dispose of C&D Debris?

Residents may:
• Hire a private hauling service, or
• Bring construction and demolition debris to the Livingston Landfill, open 7 days a week
Residents: 7 AM – 4:30 PM
Commercial: 7 AM – 3 PM
