USEFUL TIP: Wait to Decorate
If you are preparing to sell, be sure to get your listing photos taken before you begin hanging holiday decor. While tasteful holiday decorations are acceptable during showings, you don't want your listing photos to feel too seasonal or outdated.

(For many, this tip may come too late! Did you take down your Halloween decor and go straight to the winter holidays?)

Get ready for fall home showings with our top to-do's: rake leaves, tidy up landscaping, and disconnect hoses. Inside, tidy up the entryway including mail, plants, shoes, and coats. Declutter the countertops, closets, tuck away appliances, and remove personal items. Be sure to open all draperies and blinds, replace lightbulbs, clean windows as needed, and turn on all the lights. Replace filters, clean vent covers, and patch holes as needed. A bright and refreshed home shows best.
