Hello all,

After nearly 18 years in real estate, I am finally changing industries. As of February 28th, I will no longer be an active REALTOR.

This decision has been a long time coming. For those who know me well, my other business is Nelson Advocacy. I started it almost 7 years ago, and have nurtured it well. It has finally grown into a full time job, and now I have to choose.

I love real estate. It’s a fun and creative industry, and I have enjoyed serving my clients through the years. Many of those relationships will continue even though I’m no longer their REALTOR of choice.

However, my heart and my soul tell me that I must advocate for these kids. These immensely talented and undervalued kids who are invisible and underserved in our schools need more people fighting for them. I am fortunate to be able to do it, and feel it is my avocation.

Thank you to everyone who has blessed me with their business, trusted me with their friends and family members, and assisted me in providing the best client satisfaction possible. I will miss you all, and you have my gratitude.

Fun fact: Survey is the verb, plat is the noun. For example, "I had a survey of my property and the surveyor sent me a plat." FYI this plat is for my listing at 653 Hartwood Rd in Stafford. Inbox me for details if you want a beautiful piece of land.

Great thread on housing inventory and the 20,000 foot view of the market. That said, all markets are local. Call me if you want to talk about our market.
